ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

The Robert Hunter Colvin Memorial Scholarship Fund, a 5013-C non-profit organization, was created by his parents to assist graduating seniors in the Burnet Consolidated School District with funds to further their education.

As one of Hunter’s favorite teachers told me, Hunter was not your typical student. He wasn’t so much interested in his actual grades but, had a burning desire to learn. He questioned everything. He loved history, politics, debate and music and so, it is with these things in mind that we award these memorial scholarships.

Scholarships are not awarded based on class ranking – students need not have exhibited high grades. The fund seeks to award scholarships to those students that have exhibited an interest in community service, debate, politics, history, music, or have shown compassion for others. Additionally, any Burnet CISD student that has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout will be awarded a scholarship provided they make application.

Burnet High School students that plan to attend college or technical school should contact their school counselors.
